Justin Ascott (1964), is a UK based visual artist working in the field of film and moving image. Ascott graduated from Saint Martins School of Art & Design in London. In conjunction with his practice, he lectures at Norwich University of the Arts (NUCA).
Focusing on the urban environment, Ascott explores the visual and acoustic properties and potentialities of disregarded non-places. His intention is to re-code the meaning and function of such sites, to evoke emotional resonances in the viewer - sensitizing them to the experience of everyday life.
